3rd June 2005 Kite surfing: el medano Wind Direction: ne Wind Stength: 20-24knts Surf / Sea State: mixed Air Temperature: scorchio Sea Temperature: scorchio Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: Bit of interesting day this one. Bombed over to the harbour wall area when my witchard released, and cause I was leashless I totally lost the kite. The beach was about a mile away so I swam a few hundred yards to the harbour, got out and got a lift of a local back to the beach. My kite had bombed across the bay and got tangled on a buoy. So swam out to that with a knife, had to cut one pigtail, cause it was powered up, and got the rest off. Rolled up the kite and then Neil kindly towed me back in behind his board and kite hanging onto his board leash. Then got my snorkelling kit and swam back out to the buoy, but couldn't remember which one, so swam back to the beach, then figured it out and swam back out again! No way could i get the lines off, complete mess and the buoy kept hitting me on the head, which concerned me! So left the lines there and bought some more. Got some lunch and went out again. Still had a top sesssion after though! |
